So it’s not surprise at this point that my job is to workout and share the experiences I have to be better able to help other women through the same programs. I have a group of online clients that are all committing to at home workout programs and nutrition guides with my support, accountability and guidance as their personal coach/mentor.
Today launched a brand new program I get to be apart of and commit to for the next 80 days! This blog is going to be my honest review of this program — How I’m feeling before, during, after the workouts. What I’m thinking, eating and more!
For this fresh program, I’m switching my workouts to the morning.. which might be difficult considering I’m not a morning person AT ALL. I was 2 hours late to my self scheduled workout time.. but I still got it done before 10!
The nutrition plan is set up in blocks, so that you’re fueling your body with the right nutrients before and after your workouts. I wonder how others working out in the morning are eating a protein, carb, veggie serving 60 min before their workout?
Luckily, I didn’t have to get up that early, I woke up about 7:30 and ate eggs with spinach and a whole wheat English muffin. Post workout I drank a protein smoothie with spinach and a banana and I’m about to head down and eat another protein, veggie and carb for lunch!
My intake is dependent upon my current weight, goals and then obviously they factor in how many calories I’m burning within my workouts. I don’t count calories though, I just measure out serving sizes with my portion control containers and make sure I’m eating 4 veggie servings, 4 protein servings, 3 carbs, 2 fruit, 1 healthy fat, and 1 seeds/dressings for a full well rounded eating plan. It’s different for every person so I’ve helped my clients calculate their serving totals.
I pressed play on my workout by 8:45 and felt great through the duration energy wise! Today’s workout was total body core with resistance loops and medium + heavy dumbbells. For today I just used my medium dumbbells.. it’s what felt best for me! I’d definitely recommend getting the resistance loops through the actual challenge pack options because she references color and some of the ones I had from before aren’t flexible enough to do the moves accurately. Overall, the hour workout wasn’t much harder than the 30 minute ones I normally do. I thought going into it that I was going to have a hard time lasting the whole hour but It went pretty fast and it was exciting learning new moves and meeting new workout partners online!
The biggest thing for me during the next 80 days is going to be stretching and yoga. I hold stress in my lower back/hips and shoulders so I can feel them tightening up.. I’ve always had tight hip flexors so some of the moves with the bands I can feel I need to go down in band resistance — This will just require more stretching and modifications.
Streaming the workouts is a breeze. I either bring my laptop out to the garage, turn on my smart tv, or do it from my phone.. depending on what room I’m in to get away from the dogs. Today I worked out from my bedroom and had my favorite show on the tv while the workouts were on my laptop.
They have people of all demographics performing the moves for you to watch and one girl does the modified version for you too. The stream is bright, professional, and it feels like you’re there working out in a class. It doesn’t feel like you’re plugging in a 90’s workout dvd hahah.
Day 1/80 is in the books!!
