Pictures: I take pictures of myself in bra and underwear to: 1) Keep myself moving forward and pushing toward my goals. 2) Remember what I left behind and how far I’ve come. 3) Get motivation when I’ve fallen off track . Taking constant pictures of myself reminds me that I’m only in competition with myself. Goals: I’m constantly setting new goals. When there’s a break in a program or a plateau in progress that’s typically when motivation is lost. If you’re constantly setting new goals you’re constantly going to be striving to reach them. New goals resurfaces the motivation or creates new motivation. Mix it up: Motivation won’t last doing the same thing day after day for months. I do a program for 30 days then change to something else. Or take a week to try several different workouts on Beachbody on Demand to get a taste of something new, typically that steers me in the direction of what new program I’m doing next. MAKE IT FUN. Something you LOVE. Deadlines: My life goal is to have a six pack.. sometime. But that’s not going to drive my motivation day in and day out because I don’t have a point in time where I want to have this accomplished. Setting deadlines for yourself CONSTANTLY will drive you. A vacation is an excellent deadline to lose 10 pounds, but what about after that? We fall off track often times after we’ve accomplished our weight loss goal by our initial deadline. After that we don’t have anything motivating us until we realize we’ve lost everything we’ve worked for. Don’t get healthy for one vacation, event or holiday. Get healthy for all the vacations, events and holidays 365! Determine what you’re working so hard for: What’s your reason WHY? If you don’t have a reason why you’re putting yourself through the grueling, sweaty workouts and healthy food… well it’s not going to last. Make sure you determine your why and see that reason every day. I have motivation hung up ALL over the house. Your bathroom mirror or your fridge is a great place to hang your why. What keeps you motivated?! Share it with me so I can help others stay motivated too!
