I love working with women and hearing about how the dress fits or how they lost 10 pounds. But you know what I love hearing even more?
“I don’t see a transformation or a physical change, I’ve been working so hard on my nutrition and exercising every day. Why isn’t it paying off?”
I love hearing this at least once after every round of my program because it gives me the opportunity to help these people realize the transformation their body is experiencing on the inside. When people say things like this to me I get excited because I get to talk to them about their confidence and how happier they have become.
Inside transformation: Do you have more energy? Do you still feel bloated all the time? Are your bowl movements functioning better (I know gross right?).
It’s weird though, that your insides can start to feel cleansed. A lot of us don’t have the ability to check in with our “insides” and understand how we’re feeling until we’ve started improving what we’re feeding our insides. As you start to eat healthier your body starts to dispose of the plaque and toxins that has build up, and the fat that has been stored from eating unhealthy. When you start to live healthier your body starts being capable of functioning more efficiently because it starts to get rid of all the fat surrounding your organs. Your body is returning to normal function instead of needing to focus on the vital organs and overwork to compete with all the fat.
This transformation provides you with more energy, normal bowl movements, clearer skin, silkier hair, longer nails.
If you just pay attention to something other than the inches lost off your waist or the numbers on the scale you will see more clearly how your body is transforming.
I’m not sure that people realize where their fat is being stored. There is subcutaneous fat which is what we can pinch directly under our skin. But more importantly there is visceral fat. This is the fat that is stored around our organs.
When people don't see the inches coming off their waist, I think they often forget about the fat decreasing around their vital organs. More important right?
Emotional transformation: Emotional transformations can certainly be an outcome of what’s happening to your body on the inside. You can feel more energized and motivated merely because your body is more capable of providing you with more energy. But there is also something that goes on in your brain when you workout and eat healthy. You’re probably thinking, “Yah when I workout my brain is wondering why the hell I’m doing this and begging me to quit…” but just wait, because after you workout your brain releases endorphins that actually make you feel happier. The effect of this will cause you to be more motivated throughout your day and the added bonus of feeling like you did something good for your body will make you more confident too!
Eating healthier actually effects your hormones also, in turn potentially making you less moody.. potentially.
So the next time you wonder why you haven’t seen the physical transformation you have been working so hard for, check in with the rest of your body. Notice your skin, how you’re FEELING physically and emotionally. That, to me, is the most rewarding transformation and I love helping people realize what they are doing to their body is paying off!
